A patch that cools a drone battery, so the aircraft flies again sooner.

What it does

The constraint HydraVolt targets is not flight time but the wait between flights. It is a hydrogel patch, applied by hand in under a minute, that pulls 16 to 32°F out of a battery and holds it for over eight hours with no power, no refrigeration, and no modification to the aircraft. It cuts recharge turnaround by more than half, keeps staged batteries inside their storage window, and recharges itself with a few ounces of water. One patch lasts about six months and works across a mixed fleet. More sorties from fewer batteries is a weight and logistics argument as much as a thermal one.
