Magpie UMS

Magpie UMS is a modular, open-architecture VTOL unmanned aircraft system designed around MOSA principles, dual-payload operations, and a right-to-repair philosophy to reduce lifecycle costs while accelerating capability insertion and future modernization.

What it does

Magpie UMS is a modular, MOSA-aligned VTOL unmanned aircraft system designed to rapidly adapt to evolving operational requirements through interchangeable payloads, software-defined avionics, and an open architecture. Built around a dual-payload architecture, Magpie simultaneously supports intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), communications relay, electronic warfare support, logistics, and other mission-specific payloads from a single recoverable platform.

Engineered with a right-to-repair philosophy, Magpie emphasizes field-level maintainability through modular, field-replaceable components that minimize downtime, simplify sustainment, and reduce lifecycle costs. Its open systems architecture enables rapid integration of emerging sensors, autonomy technologies, communications systems, and third-party payloads without redesigning the core aircraft.

Designed for single-operator deployment, Magpie delivers extended endurance, autonomous flight, and seamless integration with ATAK and other industry-standard command-and-control ecosystems. More than a single-purpose aircraft, Magpie is a continuously adaptable platform that enables users to integrate future sensors, payloads, and mission technologies throughout its service life, providing a scalable capability for defense, public safety, and critical infrastructure missions.
